Challenge: Expansion and Efficiency
With rapid growth and expansion into new countries, Packeta needed to handle peak periods like Black Friday while enhancing the security and robustness of the entire solution. The IT run on leased hosting infrastructure was no longer meeting their needs.
Requirements: Migration to the Cloud
Packeta sought a reliable partner to design and implement the complete transition of IT systems to the public cloud (Microsoft Azure), introduce infrastructure automation, define essential cloud usage standards, and address challenges associated with the transition from on-premise solutions to the cloud environment.
With our experience in the public cloud, cloud service development, and the implementation of Kubernetes and DevOps, we were able to offer Packeta a tailor-made solution.
Implementation: Comprehensive Approach
We started with analysing system migration, continued with the dockerization of applications, and the deployment of Kubernetes. We prepared a migration scenario, including risk management, and assisted with migrating the live environment to the public cloud. After the migration, we focused on optimizing the cloud infrastructure and setting up a DevOps environment, including gitops.
Outcome and Benefit:
We completed the migration after four months of intensive preparation, analysis, and testing. Thanks to the cloud environment, Packeta can now dynamically change system performance as needed, handle seasonal peaks, and expand solutions with new features. Our cooperation has made Packeta better prepared for future challenges and able to utilize the potential of modern technologies fully.
